Overview:
The purpose of this course is to introduce the maths tools that permit to study some families of problems.
Contents:
Students will be introduced to the basis of graph theory in order to model and study some logistic situation:
• Concept of graphs
• Coloration
• Euler’s theorem
• Shortest-distance algorithms
• Concept of graphs
• Coloration
• Euler’s theorem
• Shortest-distance algorithms
The purpose is to give the students the tools to solve systems with multiple linear equations: matrices.
Through problems of optimisation under constraints, they will study the rudiments of matrices and matrix manipulations.
Through problems of optimisation under constraints, they will study the rudiments of matrices and matrix manipulations.
Through the study of evolution processes (a step towards Markov’s chains) students will have to gather their knowledge about sequences, graphs and matrices in order to model and study such phenomenas.
Advices:
• for the final exam:
It is not a competitive exam.
It’s a knowledges’s assessment.
The paper is globally maked up of classic exercises.
Students have to acquire the meaning of the studied concepts and the basic rules that permit to use them.
Their knowledges of the topics and the methods need to be precise but the examples they will have to deal with are basic.
• have a goal!
During the school year students will also be assessed on others skills than the ones for the final exam, in order to prepare them to succeed after they graduate.
The nowadays world is complex, the systems that they will be facing are complex too.
Students have to get to a level of knowledges and master maths’ tools that will permit them to read, understand, interpret and may be model practical situations.
This is a difficult part of this school year.
Enjoy the school year.
